Vacation Rentals Near Acadia National Park

Stay Minutes from Acadia's Trails, Ponds, and Lighthouses

Homes on Both Sides of Mount Desert Island and Near Schoodic

Acadia National Park covers much of Mount Desert Island, and our homes put you right next to it. Stay in Seal Harbor, a few minutes from Jordan Pond and the Carriage Roads. Or stay in Southwest Harbor on the park’s quieter western side, close to Bass Harbor Head Light and Echo Lake. We also have homes near the Schoodic Peninsula for a more secluded side of Acadia. Wherever you stay, you’ll have a full home to come back to after a day on the trails.

Choose Your Side of Acadia

Seal Harbor: Next to the Park

Our Seal Harbor homes are about 4 minutes from Jordan Pond and steps from the Carriage Roads, with Seal Harbor’s sandy beach nearby. Acadia Access Cottage is a minute from a Park Loop Road entrance, and Carriage Road Cottage and Seal Harbor Cottage both sit right on the Carriage Road system. Large groups can book the Seal Harbor Compound. Acadia Sound Cottage in Mount Desert is 14 minutes from Jordan Pond.

Southwest Harbor: The Quietside

Stay on the island’s western side, 7 to 11 minutes from Bass Harbor Head Light and close to Echo Lake, the Seawall, and trails like Acadia Mountain and Beech Mountain. Choose from Harbor Watch Cottage, Harbor Watch Apartment, Quietside Cottage, Blueberry Cottage, or our 10-bedroom group option. Pine Meadow Hideaway borders the park on 8 wooded acres.

Trenton and Ellsworth: The Gateway

Just off the island, with easy access to groceries and services and about half an hour to Jordan Pond. Bayside Cottage is an oceanfront 4-bedroom timber-frame home in Trenton, and Harbor Walk is a pet-friendly 3-bedroom home in Ellsworth.

Schoodic: Acadia Without the Crowds

Acadia’s Schoodic Peninsula has a scenic loop road, granite shoreline, bike paths, and far fewer visitors. Vista Cove on Dyer Bay and Barbee Bay Cottage in Milbridge are about 30 to 35 minutes from the Schoodic loop, and Beals Island Cottage is about an hour away.

Planning Your Acadia Trip

Which of your homes is closest to Acadia National Park?

Our Seal Harbor homes, Acadia Access Cottage, Carriage Road Cottage, Seal Harbor Cottage, and the Seal Harbor Compound, are about 4 minutes from Jordan Pond and right next to the Carriage Roads. Pine Meadow Hideaway borders the park on the Quietside.

Do I need a park pass?

Yes. An entrance pass is required to visit Acadia National Park. You can buy one online at recreation.gov or at park visitor centers.

Do I need a reservation to drive up Cadillac Mountain?

During the busy season, driving Cadillac Summit Road requires a vehicle reservation from recreation.gov, and sunrise times sell out quickly. Check the National Park Service website for current dates and booking windows before your trip.

Can I get around the park without driving?

In season, the free Island Explorer shuttle runs routes through the park and to villages around Mount Desert Island, including Southwest Harbor and Seal Harbor. It’s a great way to skip parking at busy trailheads. Check the Island Explorer schedule for current routes and dates.

Are dogs allowed in Acadia?

Yes. Leashed pets are welcome on most of Acadia’s trails and Carriage Roads, though a few areas are off-limits. Every one of our homes welcomes pets except Pine Meadow Hideaway.

Should I stay near Acadia or in Bar Harbor?

Bar Harbor has the most restaurants and shops, but staying near the park gives you quieter evenings and quicker trail access. Our homes are 13 to 27 minutes from downtown Bar Harbor. See all our homes and drive times to Bar Harbor.
